EVER FEEL LIKE YOUR BRANDING AND SOCIAL MEDIA IS A LITTLE…BEIGE?
You’ve got a lovely logo, a decent website, and maybe a colour palette that doesn’t make your eyes twitch but there’s still something missing. I’m going to say the bit no one wants to hear.
It’s you. You’re missing.
I’m talking about your actual, fabulous, business-running face.
Why does that matter?
People buy you before they buy from you.
That sounds a bit fluffy, I know, but hear me out, we all scroll past stock photos of laptops, mugs and notebooks. They’re lovely, but they don’t make us stop and go, “Ooh, I want to work with them.”
What does make people stop? A smile. A sparkle. A behind-the-scenes moment. A face they can trust.
That’s where branding photography comes in. No, it doesn’t mean stiff headshots or pretending to laugh while looking at a laptop. A proper branding shoot should feel relaxed, comfortable, and like you on your best day, not you playing a part.
But what if you hate being in front of the camera?
That’s exactly why I do what I do the way I do it.
Branding photos shouldn’t feel like a performance. You should feel like you’re just hanging out except with someone who knows how to find your best angles, fix your hair, and say “chin down a smidge” about 17 times.
You don’t need to fake it. You just need to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.
What happens after the shoot?
This is the bit no one talks about enough:
Once you’ve got the beautiful photos, what do you actually do with them?
If the thought of posting on social media fills you with dread, you’re not alone. I work with lots of clients who love their branding shoot but get totally stuck when it comes to actually showing up online.
That’s why I also offer social media support, from creating content to doing the posting for you (yes, actually doing it, not just sending you a Google Doc you’ll forget about). Whether it’s one post a week or a full plan with a sprinkle of monthly photo magic, I help make it easy.
A little challenge for you this week
Have a quick scroll through your website or your Instagram grid.
Be honest – if someone brand new landed there, would they get what you do? Would they feel your energy? Would they want to grab a cuppa with you?
If not, here’s your nudge.
Start small. Post one great photo of you. Write one real caption. Share one honest story.
You don’t need to go viral. You just need to be visible.
In short…
Your brand isn’t just your colours, fonts or packages. It’s you … the way you light up when you talk about your work, the way you make people feel, the confidence you bring to the table (even if it sometimes hides behind a biscuit and a cuppa).
If you’d like a bit of help showing that side of you, whether through photography or content, I’m right here.
With admiration and a slightly bossy nudge,
Fi x
